Job Search Strategy

Building a Global Job Search Across Time Zones

Applying internationally is a logistics problem as much as a positioning one. A weekly operating rhythm that works.

International searches fail on consistency rather than quality. Time zones, document conventions and eligibility questions add friction to every step, and friction ends searches.

Fix your documents to the destination market first. A UK CV, a US resume and a Gulf CV are not the same artefact, and submitting the wrong one signals unfamiliarity.

Address eligibility early and plainly. Recruiters abandon promising candidates when work rights are ambiguous; a single clear line resolves it.

Batch your week: sourcing on one day, tailoring on two, outreach on one, interviews scheduled in your destination market's morning. Batching protects the search from your day job.

Track everything. A simple submission log showing company, role, date, channel and outcome tells you within three weeks whether your positioning or your targeting needs the work.
