Recruiters search LinkedIn the way you search a shop: with terms. If your headline contains only your current job title, you are invisible for every adjacent search term a recruiter might use.
A working formula: target role, plus specialism, plus proof. For example, 'Financial Controller | IFRS & Group Reporting | Led $180M portfolio close'. Every element is a term someone actually searches.
Avoid unsearchable language. 'Passionate problem solver' has never appeared in a recruiter's search bar. Neither has 'results-driven professional'.
Mirror your headline language into your About section and your two most recent roles. Search relevance compounds across the profile rather than living in one field.
Then check the settings that undo the work: open-to-work signals, location accuracy and industry classification all affect whether you appear in filtered searches.
